Sabal minor - Dwarf Palmetto
The dwarf palmetto, native to much of the southeastern US, has blue-green costapalmate leaves and matures at around 10 feet. Although this palm is extremely cold-hardy, it requires hot summers to survive. A slow grower, this fan palm likes plenty of moisture and full sun. While it sometimes sports a short trunk, S. minor usually appears trunkless due to its subterranean trunk, which actually grows downward into the soil.
